Music and Art as Pathways to Wellness
Healing Arts
Meet Alona: Where Music and Psychology Intertwine
Alona Liesniak has spent her life at the crossroads of creativity and psychology. Master’s-level trained as a classical violinist in Ukraine, and later completing graduate studies in psychology while pursuing her PhD, she understands both the technical discipline of the arts and the emotional depth behind them.
She completed a Master’s degree in Psychology and was working on her PhD dissertation when the war in Ukraine forced her to relocate to the U.S. Today, she brings this rich background into her work at Cave Creek Music Academy, blending music, art, and psychology into Healing Arts sessions that nurture growth, confidence, and emotional well-being.
What Are Healing Arts Sessions?
Healing Arts sessions draw inspiration from approaches often found in music therapy and art therapy, but are offered here as non-clinical, wellness-focused experiences. Instead of focusing only on performance, sessions invite you to:
Express emotions through music and simple art practices.
Reduce stress and find calm in a creative, supportive space.
Build confidence and resilience through guided expression.
Connect with yourself on a deeper, more authentic level.
Many people seek out music therapy or art therapy for these benefits. While Alona’s sessions are not psychotherapy, they provide similar opportunities for stress relief, self-expression, and personal growth through creativity.
Who Healing Arts Helps
Children – finding healthy outlets for energy and emotions.
Teens & Adults – using creativity to relieve stress, navigate transitions, and build self-esteem.
